English 11 Composition
- On Friday we'll write the subject-verb agreement test. Review subject-verb agreement here, here, here and here.
- If possible, finish the BP1 rough copy of our essay: Compare and contrast the novel and movie versions of October Sky.
- If you can find it on TV or online, finish the movie version of October Sky. You'll need the "Similarities vs. Differences" t-chart notes for the upcoming essay.
- Did you miss the quiz on Hugh Garner's "The Sound of Hollyhocks"? See me ASAP!
- Take notes on the story's point of view, plot, characters, theme/symbolism and setting. Be ready for a quiz tomorrow morning on the short story.
- Did you miss Tuesday's final novel test? If so, see me ASAP!
- On Tuesday, Feb. 23, we will write our final October Sky test. It will examine the main characters and events from Part 4 (Chapters 21 to the Epilogue), test your understanding of the Part 4 vocabulary words, and assess your understanding of the key themes in the last half of the novel.
- Work on the point form notes for Part 4 in the study guide.
