  • Prepare for Friday's spelling test:

  • If not finished, read "The Way up to Heaven" and answer the following: 
    • 1. Describe the two main characters of the story and the story’s setting.
    • 2. What happens to Mr. Foster at the end of the story? Explain!
    • 3. Why is it so important that the servants are sent on holidays?
    • 4. What is ironic or unexpected about Mr. Foster’s demise (i.e. death)?
    • 5. Explain why the author chose the title “The Way Up to Heaven”.
    • BONUS: 6. Explain one hint in the middle of the story (i.e. a foreshadow) that gives us a clue about the ending.
    • 7. Has Mrs. Foster committed a crime? Why or why not?

    • 5. Is “Death and Justice” more argumentative or persuasive? Explain. (2)
