English 10 Blocks 2/4Homework for Wednesday
  • Read "The Way up to Heaven" and answer these questions:
    • 1. Describe the two main characters of the story and the story’s setting.
    • 2. What happens to Mr. Foster at the end of the story? Explain!
    • 3. Why is it so important that the servants are sent on holidays?
    • 4. What is ironic or unexpected about Mr. Foster’s demise (i.e. death)? (Think about Mrs. Foster’s personality.)
    • 5. Has Mrs. Foster committed a crime? Why or why not?
    • BONUS: 
    • 6. Explain one hint in the middle of the story (i.e. a foreshadow) that gives us a clue about the ending.
