English 12 Block 1: Homework for Tuesday
  • For Tuesday's comprehension quiz, read Leo Tolstoy's "How much land does a man need?"
  • If not finished, read Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour" for a short quiz. Review your notes on point of view and irony.

  • Complete your essay on the following essay question: "What is courage?"
    • The essay will be due Wednesday.

  • Be ready for the short story test tomorrow!
    • Study your Powerpoint notes on irony, conflict, plot, characters, point of view, theme and symbolism. Missing any notes? Try my old online notes here.
    • Make sure you know the main plot, characters, point of view and themes of the following stories: "Gentlemen", "Hollyhocks", "Headlines", "Rifles", "Painted Door" and "Motive". 
  • Did you write the subject-verb agreement test? If not, read over your notes and take a look at the notes here and here.

  • Read Chp. 12 of Tomorrow, When The War Began.
  • Be ready for the sentence error test on Friday!
  • The 2nd TWTWB test (Chps. 7-10) was last week. Did you miss it?
    • Finish your study guide and study your vocab!
