English 11 Block 1: Homework for Monday
  • Read to the end of Chapter 5 of Under the Ribs of Death (UTROD). The first test (Chps. 1-5) will be on Monday, Feb. 16.
  • Finish defining the vocabulary words for Part 1 of UTROD and continue your character notes. These notes will be worth 10 marks.
  • By Wednesday, February 18, please return the parental letter signed by your parent or guardian.
  • By Wednesday, February 18, create five tabbed dividers with the following categories:
    • Grammar
    • Fiction
    • Writing
    • Macbeth
    • Poetry

    English 12 Block 2: Homework for Monday
    • Finish reading at least 20% of your novel.
    • Read the notes on plot and then answer, in a complete paragraph of 8-14 sentences, the following question:
      • What has been established in the opening chapters (i.e. the exposition) of your novel?
        • Hint: What are the three essential goals of the exposition?
      • The paragraph must be neatly typed or hand-written for the beginning of Monday's class. /20
    • The novel will be due Monday, March 2. Please bring it to class next week.
