English 11 Block 1: Homework for 
Thursday
  • The rest of UTROD is due on Monday, March 2. That means you need to read to the end of Chp. 20 by next Monday. Aim for the end of Chp. 16 (at least) by Thursday.
  • Finish the study guide for Part 3.
  • On Monday we wrote the Part 2 exam for Under the Ribs of Death (UTROD). If you missed the exam, you will need to write it by Thursday this week or you'll be writing the alternate version of the exam.

    English 12 Block 2: Homework for Thursday
    • Finish reading at least 85% of your novel. The novel will be due next Monday (March 2)! Please bring it to class every day this week.
    • Review these notes on point of view
    • If not finished, complete a fully-formed third paragraph that answers this question:
      • Explain the point of view of your novel. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this perspective? Use specific examples.
        • 8-14 sentences
        • topic sentence - a body of 3-4 specific examples - concluding sentence(s)
        • 2-3 transitions
        • 2 quotations
    • If not finished, complete the second paragraph:
      • Describe the personality of your novel's protagonist.
