Planning 10 Online Block 1: Homework for Monday
  • 1.1 is due by next Tuesday.
English 12 Block 2: Homework for Monday
  • Colloquial language assignment:
    • You need to write a short cover letter of four to six sentences. Pretend you are applying to Tim Horton’s, McDonald’s or Stream.
    • Using at least six (6) colloquialisms from the handouts (and your own), create the most colloquial cover letter possible. It should be otherwise well-written (sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, spelling), but its informality must ensure you’ll never get hired!
  • If you're not done, complete a 3rd paragraph that responds to the following question:
    • How has your country influenced your life?
      • Consider issues like political beliefs, attitudes, customs and sports.
      • The paragraph should be 7-14 sentences long, and feature 3-4 separate examples or one major example with 3-4 points.
      • Include at least two introductory transition phrases.

English 10 Block 3: Homework for Monday

    • be allowed to join the military without parental permission?
    • have the right to medical privacy?
    • be allowed to smoke?
    • be allowed to marry without parental permission?
      • Choose one side or the other.
