English 12 Block 2: Homework for Thursday
- Bring your cans for the canned food drive!
- Read Leo Tolstoy's "The Three Hermits" and be ready for a quiz tomorrow. Also, review the notes on didactic writing.
- For Wednesday, make sure you completed a good copy complex paragraph in response to the following prompt: Compare and contrast the novel and movie versions of The Great Gatsby (TGG).
- For Wednesday, did you finish your questions for Tobias Wolff's "Say Yes"?

- Finish the 2nd poetry assignment:
- Choose a different poem from our 11x17 handout and explain in a paragraph the atmosphere of the poem. Write a topic sentence, a body (with 2-3 specific examples of the atmosphere/mood), and a concluding sentence.
- OR
- Draw an image that resembles the imagery from a different poem from our 11x17 handout. Write a 1-2 sentence explanation of that image and include 2-3 quotes which describe that image. Look for descriptive words, figurative language and sound devices.
- Finish the first of many paragraphs in our poetry unit.
- Choose one poem from our 11x17 handout and explain the theme of the poem.
