Communications 11 Block 1: Homework for Thursday
- Study for Thursday's subject/predicate test!
- Your second package, 2.2, should be finished by Thursday, Feb. 18. 2.1 should already be done!
- Finish the 2.2.A, 2.2.C, and 2.2.D assignments by Wednesday.
- We'll work on the short essay tomorrow.
- Your two dividers (labelled Grammar and Notes) and signed parental letter were due on Tuesday, Feb. 9. I will upgrade your marks without penalty if you show them to me later.
English 11 Block 2: Homework for Thursday
- Finish the "Rifles of the Regiment" questions if they're not done.
- 1. Explain two ways in which the emotion of fear is made into a character. (4)
- 2. Conflict: Explain the problem faced by Heathergall and his men. In addition, explain the problem faced by Heathergall himself. (4)
- 3. How were both problems resolved? (4)
- 4. Explain a major theme of this story. (Try to avoid moral statements and focus on a problem or challenge that we all face at some time in our lives.) (4)
- Your essay was due today (Wednesday, February 17).
- It should be typed, space and a half or double-spaced, and include a title page.
- Don't overuse the semi-colon and avoid comma splices!
- Reworking your paragraphs is certainly welcome. Consider adding more concrete, specific examples.
- The prompt for the essay is as follows:
