Communications 11 Block 1: Homework for Wednesday
  • You should be finished the reading and practice portions of 2.3 by the end of Tuesday.
  • Your second package, 2.2, should be finished by Tuesday, Feb. 23. The main part of this package is the final essay.
    • Using the notes on how to write an essay that I supplied in class, write a short four paragraph essay on an expository topic or a narrative topic.
      • The introductory paragraph should be 2-3 sentences.
      • Each of the the 2 (or 3) body paragraphs should include an introductory and concluding sentence, as well as 3 -4 specific examples.
      • Start your concluding paragraph with "On the whole, ..." or "Overall, ...".
  • Your two dividers (labelled Grammar and Notes) and signed parental letter were due on Tuesday, Feb. 9. I will upgrade your marks without penalty if you show them to me later.

    • 2. There are many beautiful phrases or images in this story. Write one down as a quote and explain why you find it so moving. 
    • 3. Describe two conflicts in this story. What kind of conflicts are they? 
    • 4. What is personified in p. 115? (Personification is a non-human thing or concept that’s treated/described as if it were human.)
    • 5. What does Sek-Lung discover at the end of the story? What does it symbolize?
