English 11 Block 3: Homework for Tuesday
- We are now pulling together our three paragraphs (i.e. pets, activities and values) and using them as the body paragraphs of an essay. The essay topic is, "We are defined by the things we care for and love."
- For Tuesday, Feb. 19, complete the good copy of your five-paragraph essay, preferably on Office 365 or neatly handwritten.
- Complete the following questions for "Rifles of the Regiment":
- Write in complete sentences. Avoid starting with “Because”, “To”, “Which” or “That”. The best marks go to answers with 2-3 sentences.
- 1. Explain two ways in which the emotion of fear is made into a character. (4)
- 2. Conflict: Explain the problem faced by Heathergall and his men. In addition, explain the problem faced by Heathergall himself. (4)
- 3. How were both problems resolved? (4)
- 4. Explain a major theme of this story. (Try to avoid moral statements and focus on a problem or challenge that we all face at some time in our lives.) (4)
