English 12 Block 1: Homework for Friday
  • Friday is test day! Study your Powerpoint notes on irony, conflict, plot, characters, point of view, didactic writing, theme and symbolism. Missing any notes? Try my old online notes here.
    • Review the basic plot and characters of “Say Yes”, “How Much Land Does A Man Need?", “Boys and Girls”, “Hills Like White Elephants” and "The Story of an Hour".
  • Finish the questions for William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily"!

English 9 Block 2: Homework for Friday
  • Finish all four paragraphs for the newspaper project.
  • Did you complete your essay on the following essay question: "What is courage?"?

English 11 Block 3: 
Homework for Friday
  • Be ready for tomorrow's in-class comparison essay on 1) "Wordsmith" and "The Gold Mountain Coat" (contrast the relationships of the fathers with their children) OR 2) "The Painted Door" and "The Sound of Hollyhocks" (compare and contrast the characters of John and Bill Ranson). We'll flip a coin!

English 9 Linear: Homework for Friday
  • Read Chp. 13 of Tomorrow, When The War Began.
  • Start work on the Part 3 study guide.
  • Be ready for the sentence error test on Friday!
  • The 2nd TWTWB test (Chps. 7-10) was last week. Did you miss it?
    • Finish your study guide and study your vocab!
    • Read your notes on "Point of View","Plot" and "Conflict".
