• Be ready for next Monday's (Feb. 3) editing exam. Review your notes on the following:
• sentence fragments
• run-ons and comma splices 
• subject verb agreement
• spelling and usage
• parallelism
• apostrophes
• colons and semicolons
• pronouns (here and here)
• dangling and misplaced modifiers
• I'd like everyone to type up their personal essay for next Monday (Feb. 3). Please see me next week to pick up your rough copy (i.e. the handwritten version of the essay). 
• Did you miss last Friday's in-class essay? You can use the following items:
• an outline of your chosen topic
• the quote sheet
• the UTROD vocabulary sheets (for 3 bonus words)
