- For Friday, complete the following questions for Joan Didion's "The Metropolitan Cathedral In San Salvador":
- 1. What do we learn about the Central American country of El Salvador and its capital city, San Salvador, in the 1980’s? Explain with examples.
- 2. What mistake does Didion make regarding her comment about spending time in church?
- 3. What is the condition of the Metropolitan Cathedral? Why is it in this condition?
- 4. Why do you think Didion is happy that so many people dislike the condition of the cathedral? [This is a challenge!]
