 Philosophy 12

  • We are continuing our final unit on political philosophy
    • Review these notes on the political spectrum.
    • For Tuesday, finish one page of Cornell notes for the second half of the following political philosophers:
      • Thomas Hobbes (pp. 66- 70) - Cassidy H.
      • John Locke (pp. 70-76) - Justine B.
      • J.S. Mill (pp. 76-82) - Janessa C.
  • Read to the end of Act 4 of Pygmalion.
  • Did you miss Friday's metaphysics test? Review all the way from the definition of metaphysics to today's discussion of existentialism and my defence of free will.
  • "Free will and determinism" question notes:
    • For Thursday, read p.p. 118, 119 and 120/121. Create two questions for each page (consider 120/121 as one page) that focus on the key ideas of that page. Because these are notes, you don't have to cover everything. Supply a short answer for each question. 2 questions x 3 pages = 6 question/answer notes in total.
    • For Wednesday, read p.p. 114/115, 116 and 117. Create two questions for each page (consider 114/115 as one page) that focus on the key ideas of that page. Because these are notes, you don't have to cover everything. Supply a short answer for each question. 2 questions x 3 pages = 6 question/answer notes in total.
  • Today was our second day on metaphysics. Review the Powerpoint notes on Plato's and Aristotle's metaphysics.
  • If you've been away the last few days, review the introductory Powerpoint notes on metaphysics and answer all these questions (#1-11).
