 English 12 Block 1:

  • Test alert!
  • We'll be writing the final UTROD test on Friday, Oct. 14.
  • Finish the rest of Under the Ribs of Death (UTROD). Finish the Part 3 study and vocab guide, particularly the vocab words. Write as much detail as possible. 
    • When you've finished reading and you've done the study guide, complete the online crossword for Part 3.
    • Finally, consider the following questions:
      • How does the Great Depression affect the characters of Under the Ribs of Death?
      • What moral lessons is John Marlyn, the author, offering with his novel. In other words, what lessons about life have we learned from the book?
      • What has happened to Alex in the last few pages? What do you think will happen in the next few months?

English 9 Block 2:

  • Be ready for Friday's Spelling #6 quiz:

    • Give me one sentence per paragraph that summarizes the key points of that sentence. You will have to  make choices about what's important and what's unimportant.
  • Finish your good copy paragraph by Monday evening. Send it to me via Office 365's "Share" feature.
  • Did you miss the noun test? See me ASAP!

  • Review these notes on the paragraph.
  • Create a T chart for the following topic: What are the positives and negatives of modern computer-based technologies?
    • Aim for at least 5 points on each side. The more, the better!
