Philosophy 12 Block 3:
- For Friday
- Read Maya Angelou's "Grandmother's Victory" and answer the following questions:
- 1. Provide an example of the respect displayed within Momma Henderson’s household. (1)
- 2. Describe one example of how the poor white children act like “trash”. (1)
- 3. Why is Angelou’s grandmother victorious? (1)
- 4. What do you think Angelou is saying about racism? (1)
- Answer in full sentences. Ensure your answers are full and thorough. Hand in your answers on a separate piece of paper.
- Finish all the questions on Ethics.
- If you missed the Milgram questions, answer the following question with a short paragraph: Suggestions for short writing - question b. (p. 340 75 Readings Plus)
- Deadline: Complete a good copy paragraph that answers the following: What is philosophy? Send it to me via Share in Office 365. Also show me the hand-written rough copy ASAP!

- If you're interested, you can read an epub version of October Sky:
- Right-click here and choose Save Link As...
- Load the epub file into a free epub reader app. There are free apps on all platforms. These apps should have a Read Aloud function.
- Any make up work from Term 2 is due Feb. 21!
- Finish your complex paragraph on the following topic: Of the two websites in your chosen topic, which one is more trustworthy? Send it to me via Share in Office 365. It must include your name and a title at the top of the paragraph.
- Did you miss Tuesday's test on new media and media literacy? If so, see me ASAP.
- Complete the notes (for 10 marks) on the trustworthiness of the two sites you've chosen from the three topics in today's handout.
