English 12 Block 2:
- For Friday
- Finish reading Chp. 3 of The Great Gatsby for Thursday and start your Part 2 Cornell notes. The Chp. 3 notes are due Monday, just before you write the Part 1 test.
- Test alerts! The first vocabulary quiz (Chps. 1-3) will be on Friday, May 5. The first Gatsby test (Chps. 1-3) will be on Monday, May 8.
- Did you miss the mandatory Literacy 12 exam? See your counselor ASAP!
- The personal essay was due last Sunday at noon. I'll be marking it quickly Sunday afternoon. Pleas utilize all the notes we've created in the last few weeks about essay writing.

- Finish questions i, ii, and iii of the Philosophy of Religion questions for
ThursdayFriday. Write in full sentences. - Question Notes:
- Make sure you've finished the question notes for pp. 119 and 120. Create two questions for each of the two pages (for a total of 4 questions). Include a 2-3 sentence answer for each question. Focus on the key ideas of each page. /4 marks
- 1. For pp. 114-115/116/117/118 in the textbook, create two questions for each of the four pages (for a total of 8 questions). Include a 2-3 sentence answer for each question. Focus on the key ideas of each page. /8 marks
- Most recent journal questions:
- (#14) Do you believe in the “brain in the vat” scenario? What evidence/arguments are there that it might be true and that you’re controlled? Are there any evidence/arguments to support free will?
- (#13) If you could pass the rest of your life cared for in every way as you slumbered peacefully, entranced by wonderful dreams, would you do so?
- (#12) If you could choose the sex and physical appearance of your soon-to-be-born child, would you do it? Why or why not? Would it make a difference if we were talking about diseases like Parkinson’s?
