 English 11 Block 1:

  • For Friday
    • Read Chp. 21 of October Sky for Friday and start your Part 4 study guide notes. I don't want pretty notes; I want them packed! 😂

    • Did you miss the Parts 1, 2 and 3 tests? See me ASAP!
      • Study your vocabulary; it's worth 10 marks on the tests!

     English 12 Block 2:
      • For Friday
          • Finish reading Chp. 7 of the The Great Gatsby and finish your Chp. 7 notes. They're due on Friday. You can choose from Cornell notes, question notes, and mindmap notes. You can pick and choose any combination thereof.

          • Did you complete your Gatsby "found poem" for Tuesday? The last time they'll be accepted is tomorrow, not Monday morning! After that, you'll have to settle on an alt assignment.
          • Test alert! We wrote the second Great Gatsby test (Chps. 4-6) on Monday, May 15 Tuesday, May 16. If you missed it, see me ASAP!
            • Finish reading Chp. 6 of The Great Gatsby  and finish your Chp. 6 question notes. The question notes were due Tuesday.
            • When you've finished your reading and your question notes, complete the online crossword for Part 2.
            • Quiz alert! Start studying your Part 3 vocabulary, too!  The Part 3 vocab quiz is on June 1st!


        Philosophy 12 Block 3: 

        • For Friday
            • Quiz alert! Study the overhead notes we worked on for the last two classes. On Friday you'll write an opening quiz based on these notes. You'll be examined on policies and philosophical issues that fall on the left-right spectrum. The four possible answers will be L, C,R, and LR.
            • Study alert! We wrote the metaphysics test last Wednesday. If you missed it, see me ASAP!
              • Review the stasis & flux notes, the Plato and Aristotle notes, the free will notes, and the introduction to religion notes. Re-read Sartre's handout. Examine the introduction to metaphysics questions. Finally, review the proofs of God notes and know your "isms" (below).
            • The poster project is overdue!
            • Are your "Proof of God" notes done?


          English 11 Block 4 (Day 2): 

          • For Monday
            • We started  The Crucible this week! Read to about p. 30. Make sure to get the two fill-in note sets we've written so far. There will be an Act 1 quiz next week, likely Friday.
            • Test alert! We wrote October Sky 4 on Wednesday, May 17. It included an in-class essay! If you missed it, see me ASAP!
              • Read Chp. 26 and the Epilogue of October Sky and finish the Part 4 study guide with as much detail as possible. Start filling in the back theme notes as well. You will be able to use your study guide for the essay.
              • Review your notes on the essay. You will allowed to use the "6 Types of Essays" handout during the test.
