 English 12 Blocks 1/2: Homework for Tuesday

  • Read Chp. 8 of The Great Gatsby. The notes for Chp. 8 will be due on Wednesday.
    • For the final three chapters, you may use any combination of Cornell, question, and mindmap notes
      • As always, detailed answers with quotations and analysis earn points! 
    • You can read your paperback novel or...
      • read TGG online;
      • ask me to send you an .epub electronic book file;
      • ask your support teacher for an audio book version.
  • Did you miss The Great Gatsby 2 (Chps. 4-7) test? Read your Part 2 PowerPoint notes on colour and the American Dream!
  • Did you miss The Great Gatsby 1 (Chps. 1-3) test? Read your Part 1 PowerPoint notes!

    Homework for Tuesday
    • Quiz alert! We wrote the political spectrum quiz on Friday, Dec. 22. If you missed the quiz, see me ASAP!
      • Study your spectrum notes: L, C, R, or LR.
    • Test alert! Did you miss Monday's metaphysics test? If so, see me ASAP!
      • Study your notes on flux vs. stasis, Plato and Aristotle's forms vs. matter, free will vs. determinism, existentialism & Sartre, the religious "isms", and the religious proofs.
      • Then, complete this online crossword!
      • Complete the following journal entries if not finished:
          • 17. When you do something embarrassing*, how much does it bother you to have other people notice it and laugh at you? Why? Be honest!

      English 11 Block 4 Linear: Homework for Wednesday
      • Complete your 3rd body paragraph (BP3; pro-thesis) for Wednesday, when we'll start putting the essay together.
        • Paragraph #1 is the anti-thesis paragraph, while paragraph #2 is the pro-thesis paragraph. You may write a 2nd pro-thesis paragraph (BP3) for a chance at 6/6 on the upcoming essay. 



        • It will be handed in on Thursday for 10 marks.
