 The last day I will accept work is Wednesday, January 24. Work will not be accepted on the following Thursday or Friday. I'll be free on Tuesday afternoon and all day Wednesday.



 English 12 Blocks 1/2: 

  • Block 1: I'll see you on Monday morning. We don't have time for poetry so I've got something else planned.
  • Block 2: I'll see you on Tuesday morning. We don't have time for poetry so I've got something else planned.
  • Test alert: On Tuesday we finished the Part 3 test essay. If you need to finish it, see me after school this week, on Tuesday afternoon, or any time on Wednesday.
    • You may use your T-chart and the "Six Types of Essays" handout for the essay, but nothing else.
    • Bring a functioning pen!!!

    Philosophy 12 Block 3: 
    • The manifesto is cancelled so we'll do a 3rd journal roundup. Choose any three of the topics below and hand them in for a completion mark (minimum 8 sentences each).
    • Choose 1 of the 3 and type up a good copy. Improve your response! Use BAL! Add a concluding sentence! Send it to me via Office 365/ Share!
      • 21. Should Canada’s M.A.I.D. (medical assistance in dying) policy be extended to those with mental illness? Explain why or why not with specific reasons.
      • 20. Now that we are half-way through this unit, you may be closer to self-understanding. Which political philosophy most closely resembles your own beliefs? Explain with at least three examples.
      • 19. As a soldier, would you willingly die for your country? Would it matter if you volunteered or were drafted? Remember Socrates’s final choice. What would he say?
      • 18. Would you be willing to commit perjury for your best friend? For example, might you testify that he was driving carefully when he hit a pedestrian, even though he had been joking around and not paying attention? 
      • 17. When you do something embarrassing*, how much does it bother you to have other people notice it and laugh at you? Why? Be honest!

      English 11 Block 4 Linear: Homework for Thursday, Jan. 25
      • Today we started typing up the complex essay. If you were away, start typing up your rough copy paragraphs into one document in Office 365. We'll finish the essay on Thursday and discuss formatting. It's also due Thursday!
      • We will have a regular (but double) class on Thursday, Jan. 25. We will finish the essay and start our media literacy unit.
