  • Complete the following (# 1,2,4,5) on Luisa Valenzuela's "The Censors".
    • 1. Incentive moment: What does Juan do, “without thinking twice” (Para. 1), that launches the story forward? (2)
    • 2. Setting: Explain the society in which Juan lives. You must consider the subtle clues! (2)
    • 3. Is the conflict mostly internal or external? Explain with reasons. (2)  
    • 4. Explain the ironic twist at the end of the story. (2)
    • 5. Theme Question: What insight into the human condition (and human psychology) do you think Valenzuela is trying to make? (2)
