English 11 Block 1: Homework for Tuesday

Finish your outline for Wednesday! /10
Finish your quad notes.
Choose one of the three topics (flu remedies, consumer advocacy, or the solar minimum).
Create a full page quad chart like we did with the pediatrician websites. Which of the two websites in your topic is more trustworthy? Take point form notes to fill out all four quadrants; however, two quadrants are more likely to be filled than the other two. Aim for at least 20 point form notes overall. The more, the better.

Philosophy 12 Block 2: Homework for Tuesday

On Tuesday we will finish our group poster project on your "proof of God". Make sure you've figured out how to organize your poster and what you want to write about. Remember, you're writing at the level equivalent to a Powerpoint, so don't use too much detail! Be concise and pithy!
Finish at least one page of point-form notes on your "Proofs of God" topic. Look for the key definitions, explanations, examples, philosophers, and criticisms. /10

10. You are the captain of a 20-crew submarine that’s lying on the seabed. Its engines are destroyed. Rescue is three days away. There’s only enough air for five people over that three-day span. What do you decide? What’s the rationale for your decision?
9. Lawyers take a solemn oath to defend the interests of their clients. They must not suppress information either. If you were the lawyer, would you withhold information that implicates your client in a violent crime, even if you might be disbarred?

English 12 Block 3: Homework for Tuesday

The Great Gatsby: We've started reading TGG! For Tuesday, read all of Chp. 2 and start one page of Cornell notes. The Chp. 2 notes will be due on Wednesday.

For the main note taking area, aim for 10-12 main points, or roughly 1 point-form note per 2 pages. You can supplement this with smaller sub-points and short quotes.
Be ready for the Part 1 test of TGG next Monday (May 13)!
