English 11 Block 1: Homework for Wednesday
  • Finish reading Macbeth using No Fear Shakespeare
  • The Act 4/5 exam will be written on Wednesday.
  • Also, listen to the play via the audio version of Macbeth.
  • We wrote the "confused words" grammar test last Friday. Did you miss it?

English 12 Block 2: Homework for Wednesday
  • We've got two tests this week:
    • Wednesday, April 29: Chp. 1 vocabulary words from The Great Gatsby.
    • Thursday, April 30: Writing Exam
      • Review your essay and writing sections in your binder for dangerous language, writing types, stylistic devices, quotations, transitions and the structure of the paragraph and essay.
  • Try to finish reading Chp. 1 of The Great Gatsby.
    • Interested in an epub version of Gatsby for your E-reader or iPad? Right click here and download the file using "Save link as..."; then, upload it to your electronic device.
  • Your typed personal essay was due at the beginning of class on Monday, April 27.
  • The essay responds to the following prompt: "The lessons we learn in our youth prepare us for later in life".

      • 12-14 font size
      • standard font (Calibri, Arial, etc.)
      • 1.5 spacing
      • indented paragraphs; extra space between paragraphs
