Planning 10 Online Block 1: Homework for Friday
  • Everyone should be finished Modules 1 and 4 (and Chatter High) by Monday, Nov. 9.
  • I will be placing zeros in the gradebook starting this week.
English 12 Block 2: Homework for Friday
  • Finish reading Chapter One of The Great Gatsby for tomorrow.
  • We will be writing the first Gatsby vocabulary test on Friday, Oct. 30.
  • Did you complete Tuesday's Writing Exam?
    • Study the following from your notes:
      • Dangerous Language
      • Stylistic Devices
      • Parts of the Paragraph and Essay
      • Types of Writing
      • Transitions
      • Quotations
      • Logos vs. Pathos
      • Formatting of Titles
      • Review the 8 essays we read from the essay booklet.
  • Did you write the in-class compare and contrast essay on Monday?
    • The two choices are
      • 1. Compare and contrast “Tyranny of the Clock” and “If Hitler Asked…”
      • OR
      • 2. Compare and contrast “Lifeboat Ethics” and “I Have A Dream” 
    • You will be allowed to bring in two pieces of paper:
      • the two-sided outline (you cannot use your own outline)
      • the quotation sheet

  • For Friday, study for spelling quiz #7 and read half of Section 1.1 of Fahrenheit 451 plus notes, or just read all of Section 1.1. (up to p. 24). The Cornell notes for 1.1 are due on Monday.
