Planning 10 Online Block 1: Homework for Monday
  • Section 3.1 should be finished by Friday, Dec. 11.
  • Section 2.3 should have been finished by Thursday, Dec. 3.
English 12 Block 2: Homework for Monday
  • Make sure you have a full T-Chart of information on the following prompt: Compare and contrast the novel and movie versions of The Great Gatsby.
  • Did you write the final Gatsby exam on Wednesday, Dec. 2? It covers Chps. 7-9. Study your Powerpoint notes and your quote notes. Moreover, consider the following issues:
    • Do  you admire Gatsby?
    • Inequality in The Great Gatsby
    • Gatsby's death
    • What is the "Lost Generation"?

English 10 Block 3: Homework for Monday
  • Finish the first of many paragraphs in our poetry unit. 
    • Choose one poem from our 11x17 handout and explain the theme of the poem.
      • 7-14 sentences
      • TS/Body/CS
      • 2-4 specific examples
  • Did you write Wednesday's in-class essay? This is a comparison of the novel and movie versions of Fahrenheit 451.
    • You may bring your modified T-Chart and your written outline only!
    • Here's the prompt: Compare and contrast the novel and movie versions of Fahrenheit 451.
  • If you missed either part of the movie (or all of it), watch the Fahrenheit 451 movie. Create a "T-chart" of similarities and differences between the novel and the movie; enter at least 10 entries on each side. This is an important step before we write the in-class compare and contrast essay on Wednesday.
