English 12 Block 2: Homework for Monday
- Study for next Wednesday's writing test:
- dangerous language; title formatting; paragraph structure; essay structure (including the introductory paragraph); transitions; stylistic devices; types of writing; quotations; essays read in class
- Did you write Thursday's in-class essay? If not, you'll need to write the essay in-class (not at home) and after school within the next week. A new coin flip will be used.
- Complete the quotation sheet and have at least 2-3 quotations ready for each essay topic. I want to see at least two quotations per essay. BRING THIS SHEET TO CLASS. Also, review the videos below.
- Complete an outline for each of the essay topics. Because of the flex day on Wednesdays and its shortened classes, we will postpone the in-class essay until Thursday. Wednesday is important, however, as we will work on quotations (see below). BRING THIS SHEET TO CLASS.
- Complete a T-chart (of similarities and differences) for both essay options.
- Complete one page of notes on both "I Have a Dream" and "If Hitler Asked..."
- The single side of notes for each essay should be single-spaced and focused on topic, theme, main points, and stylistic devices.
- You'll receive up to 5 completion marks for each set of notes.
- Please review the following videos on citations:
