English 12 Block 1: Homework for Monday
- Study for Monday's writing test (basically everything in your notes outside of editing). Also, start working on your two T-charts (one per essay topic). The T-charts will be due on Tuesday.
- For Friday, write down eight quotes (two from each of the four essays) using a variety of blending strategies:
- Make sure the quotes are properly cited:
- For each essay, find one quote that typifies its theme, and one that is representative of its style.
- Also, finish one page of point form notes (themes/arguments/key quotes/stylistic devices) on Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream" and Philip Meyer's "If Hitler Asked You to Electrocute a Stranger Would You?"
- If not done, read Maya Angelou's "Grandmother's Victory" and write a paragraph answering the following topic: Why is Maya Angelou's "Grandmother's Victory" an example of a narrative essay?
