English 12 (S2) Blocks 2/4Homework for Tuesday, April 3
  • On Wednesday we will write our first in-class personal essay. The two topics are "Certain events change our impressions of life" and "With independence comes increased responsibility". I will flip a coin to see which topic you'll write!
  • Get a jump on what we'll be working on in Tuesday's class - an outline that you can use during Wednesday's class. Download a copy of the outline here.

  • We'll write the En. 10 short story exam on Wednesday, April 4.
  • Did you miss Spelling #6?
  • If not finished, complete the following questions for "A Way Up To Heaven":
    • 2. What happens to Mr. Foster at the end of the story? Explain!
    • 3. Why is it so important that the servants are sent on holidays?
    • 4. What is ironic or unexpected about Mr. Foster’s demise (i.e. death)? (Think about Mrs. Foster’s personality.)
    • 5. Has Mrs. Foster committed a crime? Why or why not?

      English 12 Linear Block 1: Homework for Tuesday, April 3
      • Choose one of the main characters in The Great Gatsby and identify five important character traits. Then, find a quotation in the novel that represents each trait. 
      • Create a short paragraph for each trait: Introduce the trait with a few sentences of your own, and then blend in a quote:
