English 12 Block 1: Homework for Tuesday
  • Read Chp. 3 of The Great Gatsby and finish one page of Cornell notes for Chapter 3. Do your own work!
  • Be ready for Tuesday's test on Chps. 1-3. Consider the main characters, main events and the setting(s). Read your notes and the biographies. Also, consider the following questions:
      • What do the different settings in Chps. 1-3 symbolize?
      • How do Gatsby and the Buchanans live differently from the Wilsons?
      • In the first three chapters, how is Fitzgerald's life represented in his novel?
      • What's the contrast between Nick and Gatsby? Between the Buchanans and the Wilsons? Between the Eggs and the Valley of Ashes?

  • Read Chp. 13 and 14 of Tomorrow, When the War Began. Also make sure to start your third study guide.
  • The 2nd TWTWB test is next Wednesday.
  • Did you miss last Tuesday's Part 2 test on Tomorrow, When the War Began?
    • Part 1: vocabulary
    • Part 2: multiple choice (main events and characters)
    • Part 3: paragraph
    • Study your notes on point of view!

English 11 Block 3: Homework for Tuesday
  • Part 1 (Chps. 1-6) of October Sky is due on Wednesday, May 22. Don't forget the study guide and vocabulary sheet!
    • For Tuesday, read and finish your notes on Chp. 4 and 5.
