English 12 Block 1: Homework for Tuesday
- Read Chp. 3 of The Great Gatsby and finish one page of Cornell notes for Chapter 3. Do your own work!
- Be ready for Tuesday's test on Chps. 1-3. Consider the main characters, main events and the setting(s). Read your notes and the biographies. Also, consider the following questions:
- What do the different settings in Chps. 1-3 symbolize?
- How do Gatsby and the Buchanans live differently from the Wilsons?
- In the first three chapters, how is Fitzgerald's life represented in his novel?
- What's the contrast between Nick and Gatsby? Between the Buchanans and the Wilsons? Between the Eggs and the Valley of Ashes?
