English 12 Block 1: Homework for Wednesday
  • Read Chp. 4 of The Great Gatsby and start your question notes. (They'll be due on Thursday.) Do your own work!
  • Did you miss today's test on Chps. 1-3? Consider the main characters, main events and the setting(s). Read your notes and the biographies. Also, consider the following questions:
      • What do the different settings in Chps. 1-3 symbolize?
      • How do Gatsby and the Buchanans live differently from the Wilsons?
      • In the first three chapters, how is Fitzgerald's life represented in his novel?
      • What's the contrast between Nick and Gatsby? Between the Buchanans and the Wilsons? Between the Eggs and the Valley of Ashes?
