English 12 Block 1: Homework for Wednesday
- Be ready for Wednesday's in-class comparison essay! We'll flip a coin on the following options:
- 1st topic:
- Compare and contrast “Grandmother’s Victory” and “Riding the Hyphen”.
- 2nd topic:
- Compare and contrast “I Have A Dream” and “Death and Justice".
- Do you have your two outlines ready?
- For Tuesday, complete two (similarities and differences) T-charts for the following topics. Focus on the thesis and main arguments, as well as the style of writing.
- For Monday, identify 8 quotations (two from each essay in our two potential essay topics) that exemplify each essay's thesis and style. Blend them and cite them according to your handouts.
- Did you miss the quiz for Maya Angelou's "Grandmother's Victory"? Read the narrative essay and consider the issue of dignity. See me this week!
- Make sure you get the handout and crossword for "Types of Writing".

- Please read to the end of Macbeth. Tomorrow we'll finish up and get ready for the final exam - on Acts 4 and 5 - on Thursday.
- You can use the No Fear Shakespeare version or the audio version!
- Finish the Act 4 study guide.
- Did you miss Tuesday's test on the apostrophe, colon, semicolon and comma?
English 9 Linear: Homework for Thursday
- Complete your notes on the two articles I handed out today. See me if you don't have the handouts.
- Complete at least half a page of notes for each article.
- Describe the central person in each article.
