- By Tuesday, we'll be ready for the following essay topics
- 1st topic:
- A) Compare and contrast “Grandmother’s Victory” and “Riding the Hyphen”.
- 2nd topic:
- B) Compare and contrast “I Have A Dream” and “Tyranny of the Clock”.
- For Monday, complete the following:
- 1. Complete two T-charts, venn diagrams or mind maps - one for each of the two topics.
- 2. Complete your "quotes" assignment for
ThursdayMonday. Write out two quotes for each of the four essays. - Complete one page of notes for each essay: "Riding the Hyphen" and "I Have a Dream".
- Look for the topic, thesis, key points and examples, style and stylistic devices.

- Read Alice Munro's "Boys and Girls" for Tuesday. Be ready for a 10 mark comprehension quiz.

- Read (and re-read if necessary) Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour". Be ready for a short multiple choice quiz on Tuesday.
