English 9 Block 3 (Day 1):
- Paragraph 2:
- Paragraph 2 is due on Monday. Bring a hard copy, not an email! It just needs to be a rough copy, and can be hand-written or printed.
- Examine this website on categorization.
- Now, take a look at your T-chart on the positives and negatives of technology. Focus on the "Negatives" column. Using symbols, highlighters or coloured pens, identify three categories under which you can organize most of your examples (e.g. education/information/making connections).
- Keeping in mind the basic structure of the paragraph, and using the categories above as your main points, write a complete paragraph that answers the following question:
- How does technology undermine our lives?
- Don't worry about the positives of technology.
- Aim for at least 7 sentences. Try to write at least two sentences per point.
- Complete a draft copy of this paragraph for next class! Bring a hard copy; we'll work with it in class!

- Did you complete ALL of the questions from Ethics 3 on utilitarianism for Friday? Getter' done!
- Get yesterday's notes on utilitarianism AND the overhead summaries of the classical ethical theories if you missed them. Contact another student or see me when you get back.
- Did you finish your teaching poster project? It's past due!
- Complete your 1 - 2 pages of notes on your classical ethics section. Show them to me when you're done! /10 marks
- Find two quotes from philosophers of your ethics and write them down. The quotes should exemplify two key beliefs of your ethical philosophy.
- Create 4-6 mini-paragraphs on the key issues of your philosophy!
- Include a border, title and a graphic, as well as the two quotes and the mini-paragraphs.
