 English 12 Block 1:

  • Read Chp. 3 of Under the Ribs of Death (UTROD), but feel free to read beyond. Keep working on the Part 1 study and vocab guide, particularly the vocab words.
    • The first small test on UTROD will be on Monday, Sept. 19. It will have multiple choice and matching.
  • Study this site on subjects and predicates.
  • Please have your parent or guardian sign your parental welcoming letter by next Friday.
  • Please bring a pen, a pencil, and a binder with paper to school. For next week, divide your binder using three labeled dividers: Grammar/Writing /Units.

English 9 Block 2:

  • If not finished, please complete the following:
    • “Busted Guitar Blues is Sweet YouTube Revenge” by Jesse McLean [pp. 17-19]
    • Answer in full sentences only! Start each sentence with a capital. Finish each sentence with a period. Capitalize specific nouns. 
      • 1. What happened to Dave Carroll? Explain his ordeal with two or three full sentences. (2)
      • 2. How can social media like YouTube and Facebook help ordinary people stand up for their rights? (2)
      • 3. Was Ms. Irlweg treated fairly? Explain your opinion clearly and fully. (2)
