  English 12 Block 1:

  • In 2-3 complete sentences, explain why today's sample essay (p. 2-4) is a 6/6. (5 marks)
  • Did you miss today's test on punctuation? If so, see me ASAP!
  • Did you complete the quotation blending exercise (Section B) on your quotations handout? It's worth 12 marks.
    • Choose two quotes for each of the three blending types.

    English 9 Block 2:

    • Read Chapter 9 of Animal Farm.. Complete the 2nd study guide up to and including #14. 
    • Study the following words for Friday's quiz:

    • Read Chp. 4 of October Sky. The first test (Chps. 1-6) will be next Friday, Dec. 2.
      • Start working on the Part 1 study guide (ignore p. 2; focus on pp. 1 and 3).

      • Study your three fill-in-the-blank note sets.
    • Due last Tuesday: Using the sheet below (click for a larger image), choose one of the 3 topics [flu remedies, consumer advocacy, and the solar minimum]. Then do a "deep dive" into the two websites listed under the topic you've chosen. Create a set of point-form notes where you identify the strengths and weaknesses of each website. Overall, which one is more credible?
