 English 11 Block 1: Homework for Wednesday

  • October SkyFinish reading Chp. 11 of October Sky and finish the Part 2 study guide with as much detail as possible. (It's worth 10 marks. I want detail, not prettiness! Also, study your vocabulary!)
    • Test alert! You'll be writing the Part 2 test on Wednesday, May 29 Thursday, May 30th.
  • Did you miss last Wednesday's punctuation test? Review your notes and study the following:

    • Political philosophy: Make sure you get the notes on socialism, liberalism, and conservatism.



    • Here are the journal entries (so far) for Round 3:
      • 18. Would you be willing to commit perjury for your best friend? For example, might you testify that he was driving carefully when he hit a pedestrian, even though he had been joking around and not paying attention? 
      • 20. Now that we are half-way through this unit, you may be closer to self-understanding. Which political philosophy most closely resembles your own beliefs? Explain with at least three examples.


    English 12 Block 3: 
    Homework for Wednesday
    • The Great Gatsby: Read ALL  of Chp. 7 and finish your notes!
      • For Part 2 (Chps. 7-9), you may mix and match three types of notes: Cornell, question, and mind-map. The first set of notes for Chp. 7 (of your choice) is due Wednesday, May 29.
    • Test alert! Did you miss the Part 2 test? See me ASAP!
      • Study your notes on the themes of TGG, as well as the notes on colour and the American Dream.


    English 11 Block 4 Linear: Homework for Thursday
    • Read to the end of October Sky (including the Epilogue) and finish the Part 4 study guide. Give me detail! The final test is coming soon!
